A RESOLUTION MODESTLY REQUESTING THE FIVE PUNONGBARANGAYS IN TAYTAY, RIZAL TO ASSIGN BARANGAY HEALTH WORKERS IN ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THEIR TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION DURING CLASS HOURS TO SERVE AS CONTINGENT HEALTH SERVICES STAFF INSIDE THE CAMPUSES
WHEREAS, Section 16 of R.A. 7160 or the General Welfare clause of the Local Government Unit of 1991 states “that every local government unit shall exercise the powers expressly granted to the promotion of the general welfare. Within their respective territorial jurisdictions, local government units shall promote health and safety, enhance the right of the people to a balanced ecology and preserve the comfort and convenience of their inhabitants”;
WHEREAS, currently, there are insufï¬cient health workers in almost all Local Government Units in the country to cover the public-school campuses in which health care services are needed;
WHEREAS, Barangay Health Workers (BHW) are frontline health workers who provide basic health education and selected primary health care services (e.g., maternal and child health, first aid, environmental health) and link clients to health facilities that can be tapped to augment the void in the school clinics or health stations within the campuses;
WHEREAS, assigning at least one BHW for every school within their Barangay during class hours will be significantly beneï¬cial to the school, its students and personnel as they can provide first aid procedures and proper coordination with the barangay and municipal health office if the need arises;
WHEREAS, it is also recommended that proper training and orientation and equipment be provided by the Municipal Government of Taytay and the respective Sangguniang Barangay;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay, Rizal, in session duly assembled, hereby MODESTLY REQUESTS THE FIVE PUNONGBARANGAYS IN TAYTAY, RIZAL TO ASSIGN BARANGAY HEALTH WORKERS IN ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THEIR TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION DURING CLASS HOURS TO SERVE AS CONTINGENT HEALTH SERVICES STAFF INSIDE THE CAMPUSES.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this resolution and the list of public schools per barangay be furnished to all Sangguniang Barangays and concerned ofï¬ces for their information and appropriate action.
